Hypnotherapy is simply a state of deep relaxation where you enter a “trance state”

 In this state you feel very relaxed and focused. You can access your unconscious thoughts, the ones that are usually hidden behind your conscious mind’s chatter. And you will be receptive to suggestions.

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to try to treat unwanted conditions or change negative habits.

You are ALWAYS fully in control when under hypnosis and you will only accept the suggestions if they feel right to you.

You can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state at any time

Hypnosis doesn’t work if you don’t want to be hypnotised.

How can Hypnotherapy help me?

Hypnotherapy can be used to treat a number of issues including:-

How can I work with you?

The first step is to talk with me to discuss what it is you hope to achieve and to agree that hypnotherapy is the right way forward for you.

If we decide to proceed with the therapy the first fifteen minutes are designed to relax the body and mind. This stage of hypnosis is called the induction.  It encourages you to enter into a light trance using relaxation techniques which work on the mind and body.

The second stage in the hypnotic process is to deepen the trance state. This ‘deepening’ prepares the unconscious mind to be more receptive to new suggestions. Once the new suggestions have been accepted new patterns of thinking and behaviour will follow.

The next stage of the process is the suggestions that are designed to change thought patterns and behaviours. Usually, these suggestions for self improvement will have been agreed upon by myself as well you  in the initial introduction.  This is important so that I utilise your language and model of the world in such a way that your unconscious mind accepts the suggestion.

Please note that a suggestion may be accepted immediately. But more often the suggestion will need to be repeated regularly over several sessions to take root in the unconscious mind. However, once the suggestion does take hold, thought patterns and behaviour will begin to change. 

I worked with Tansy over three sessions to improve my levels of confidence when public speaking.  I had the content but suffered badly from nerves to the point that I was physically sick before I went on stage. Tansy set a powerful suggestion that I would feel totally confident as soon as I set foot on the speaking platform or area, I would be filled with confidence and know that I was successful.  I felt different after the first session but wanted to have a couple more sessions to really embed this message to my unconscious mind.  This was my first experience into hypnotherapy and I would not hesitate to recommend Tansy to others.
